Our Policy
We do not process medication orders sent to us directly from online suppliers. If you choose to order medications from an online retailer, you are welcome to pick up a written prescription from our clinic to provide to that supplier directly. We are always happy to write a prescription for you. We just need to know that any medication your pet receives is safe, properly handled, and exactly what our doctors prescribed.
Why This Matters
Your pet's safety is always our top priority
You've trusted us with your pet's medical care. Our doctors know your pet's medical history and are personally invested in providing the best possible treatment. When we prescribe a medication, we need to be confident that what your pet receives is the exact medication, in the proper dosage, stored and shipped as the manufacturer requires.
By approving orders from online retailers, we would be giving our stamp of approval that those medications are safe, and with most non-accredited online suppliers, we simply cannot make that guarantee.
Counterfeit Products
Non-accredited suppliers may sell counterfeit medications that look identical to the real thing but contain wrong ingredients or dosages.
Improper Storage
Many medications require specific temperature and handling conditions that unregulated sellers may not follow.
Mishandled Shipping
Products exposed to extreme heat, cold, or delays in transit may lose effectiveness or become harmful.
Wrong Medication
Without veterinary oversight of fulfillment, there's a real risk of receiving incorrect products or dosages.
