Meet Our Team

The people behind the compassionate, expert care your pets receive at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Carla Christman, DVM

Carla Christman, DVM

Owner

Dr. Christman is a 1996 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and is the owner of Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic. She started her veterinary career at a mixed animal practice in Deerfield, Wisconsin, caring for everything from farm animals to family pets, then opened the doors at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic in 2001 and hasn't looked back since. Carla loves Madison for its eclectic people and never-ending list of things to do out on the town.

Dr. Christman is a member of the following organizations:

When Dr. Christman is away from the clinic, she enjoys spending time in her garden or camping and hiking. She also shares her home with several pets, including dogs, cats, and ferrets. Dr. Christman's passion for exemplary care of small mammals is why Healthy Pet has become a premier facility for small mammal care in the Madison area.

Alexandra Ostrowski, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Known warmly by clients and staff as "Dr. Ola," Dr. Ostrowski brings compassionate, thorough veterinary care to every dog and cat she sees, from routine wellness visits to complex medical cases. She believes in clear communication and taking the time to answer every question before a family leaves the exam room. Dr. Ostrowski sees our canine and feline patients; our exotic companion mammal patients are seen by Dr. Christman.

Mike, Operations Manager and Co-Owner

Mike

Operations Manager / Co-Owner

Mike joined the clinic team in late 2015 after being a manager and corporate trainer in the Madison area for nearly 30 years. Mike also had a "past life" that included being a Firefighter/EMT and a Police and Fire Communicator/911 Dispatcher for over 17 years. Mike has found that working in veterinary care is not that different than working in public safety: everyone must work together as a team and trust each other in order to bring about the best outcome for each and every patient. That trust and teamwork is the foundation on which we build relationships with our clients through their pets.
